On your first visit, our staff will assist you with completing the appropriate forms and make sure you are confident in your understanding of the process and any fees you may be responsible for at the visit.
Next you will meet with one of the doctors for a consultation, where you will share your experience and inform them of the history of your problem. They will also conduct an examination of your neuromusculoskeletal system to properly assess what may be causing your pain or discomfort and determine if you are a candidate for chiropractic care. This may include a postural evaluation as well as evaluation of the range of motion and joint biomechanics. In the event X-rays are needed, we have on-site digital x-ray services.
If your doctor discovers a condition that is not appropriately treated with chiropractic care, he or she will refer to the proper specialist for that condition. If you are a candidate for chiropractic, your doctor will discuss treatment options and home care recommendations. We look forward to working as a team with your other health care professionals to treat your whole person.
It is important to understand that how long you choose to benefit from chiropractic care is always up to you. Pain is usually the last symptom to arise and the first to leave.
Relief Care also known as acute, initial intensive, or symptomatic care. Under this stage people wait until they are in pain, before consulting a chiropractor. The main objective in this phase is to decrease the amount of pain and get the patient feeling better.
Corrective care, an approach that focuses on proper body functions. Soft tissue (muscles, ligaments, tendons, etc.) often remains once the pain and aches have subsided. Corrective care focuses on the stabilization and strength of the joints and soft tissue with the intent to complete the healing process. In this stage we are making more permanent structural changes. Strengthening exercises, stretches, supplements, and recovery tools all assist in this process.
Wellness Care. Wellness or maintenance care is periodic “checkups” to maintain optimal health and to detect new problems before they become serious.
